Narrative:

My friend screamed, pushed plane over. I looked and saw a twin engine plane miss us by ft. We were cleared into class B and had a squawk. When I called the controller, he said he didn't see anyone out there, ho, ho. The next guy said there had been a misunderstanding between 2 controllers. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: pilot was flying a mooney M-20P aircraft. The near midair collision was with a beech king air. The passenger was also a pilot, and was going to pick up a beech baron. Pilot estimates the miss distance was less than 50 ft. The TRACON supervisor called the next day to say there was a problem with approach controller coordination.
