Narrative:

Climbing through FL280, ECAM engine page indicated oil advisory high temperature. #1 engine oil temperature 140 degrees, all other engine parameters normal. Referenced our QRH and started timing 20 mins while monitoring engine parameters. At leveloff at FL330, oil temperature began increasing. Increased thrust attempting to decrease oil temperature, but it continued to climb, turning amber and then red until it reached 165 degrees, shut down #1 engine and diverted to bhm. Declared an emergency, landed safely at bhm.
