Narrative:
Flying as first officer in an aircraft in which I was recently typed 'captain,' was very high time in make and model company man.' windshield anti-ice outer layer arced, sparked, and outer layer developed fine crack. Shortly thereafter, entire outer layer of glass (not the structural inner layer) cracked all over. No poh airspeed/operations restr, so flight was continued. Not a MEL item, but aircraft flown back to base. Pressure from captain/company.
