Narrative:
Operating lny to hnl, visual approach to runway 26R at hnl. On short final, approximately 0.5 to 1.0 mi and 300-400 ft AGL, ATC cleared aircraft Y for takeoff on runway 22L. Aircraft Y was already rolling toward the intersection of runways 26R and 22L before we crossed the threshold of runway 26R. I reminded tower that we had been cleared for landing on runway 26R after he issued takeoff clearance to aircraft Y. Tower answered 'roger.' we elected to continue the landing, but adjusted descent to touchdown beyond the intersection of runways 26R and runway 22L. Our relatively higher ground speed carried us past the intersection prior to aircraft Y getting there. However, that fact was not immediately apparent from our perspective and we almost initiated a go around to ensure separation. Is this procedure accepted practice during runways 22/26 operations? If so, the safety margins are razor thin.

Narrative: OPERATING LNY TO HNL, VISUAL APCH TO RWY 26R AT HNL. ON SHORT FINAL, APPROX 0.5 TO 1.0 MI AND 300-400 FT AGL, ATC CLRED ACFT Y FOR TKOF ON RWY 22L. ACFT Y WAS ALREADY ROLLING TOWARD THE INTXN OF RWYS 26R AND 22L BEFORE WE CROSSED THE THRESHOLD OF RWY 26R. I REMINDED TWR THAT WE HAD BEEN CLRED FOR LNDG ON RWY 26R AFTER HE ISSUED TKOF CLRNC TO ACFT Y. TWR ANSWERED 'ROGER.' WE ELECTED TO CONTINUE THE LNDG, BUT ADJUSTED DSCNT TO TOUCHDOWN BEYOND THE INTXN OF RWYS 26R AND RWY 22L. OUR RELATIVELY HIGHER GND SPD CARRIED US PAST THE INTXN PRIOR TO ACFT Y GETTING THERE. HOWEVER, THAT FACT WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY APPARENT FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE AND WE ALMOST INITIATED A GAR TO ENSURE SEPARATION. IS THIS PROC ACCEPTED PRACTICE DURING RWYS 22/26 OPS? IF SO, THE SAFETY MARGINS ARE RAZOR THIN.
