Narrative:
On flight after 2 months layoff, I landed at C65 (home airport) with landing gear retracted. During the flight, I had executed 3 excellent lndgs at 2 other airports -- cgn and esn. There was a stiff breeze, 15-20 KTS, right down the runway in all 4 lndgs -- no noticeable gustiness. At esn, I had to use the throttle to stay on the VASI 'GS.' I think that, when I reached cgs, a combination of 'ahh, I'm home,' and a determination to nail the precision landing led me to focus on my position in the pattern to the detriment of following my pattern procedures. During the layoff, the bird received a starter transplant, and I made this flight mostly as a 'shakedown' in preparation for an anticipated long cross country the following weekend. I may have neglected 'mental preparation' to remain focused.

Title: A C177RG PLT RPTED MAKING A GEAR UP LNDG AT CGS.
Narrative: ON FLT AFTER 2 MONTHS LAYOFF, I LANDED AT C65 (HOME ARPT) WITH LNDG GEAR RETRACTED. DURING THE FLT, I HAD EXECUTED 3 EXCELLENT LNDGS AT 2 OTHER ARPTS -- CGN AND ESN. THERE WAS A STIFF BREEZE, 15-20 KTS, RIGHT DOWN THE RWY IN ALL 4 LNDGS -- NO NOTICEABLE GUSTINESS. AT ESN, I HAD TO USE THE THROTTLE TO STAY ON THE VASI 'GS.' I THINK THAT, WHEN I REACHED CGS, A COMBINATION OF 'AHH, I'M HOME,' AND A DETERMINATION TO NAIL THE PRECISION LNDG LED ME TO FOCUS ON MY POS IN THE PATTERN TO THE DETRIMENT OF FOLLOWING MY PATTERN PROCS. DURING THE LAYOFF, THE BIRD RECEIVED A STARTER TRANSPLANT, AND I MADE THIS FLT MOSTLY AS A 'SHAKEDOWN' IN PREPARATION FOR AN ANTICIPATED LONG XCOUNTRY THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND. I MAY HAVE NEGLECTED 'MENTAL PREPARATION' TO REMAIN FOCUSED.
