Narrative:
We left the gate after boarding, then deiced because it was starting to snow and it was becoming heavier and heavier. After deicing, we were given taxi instructions to runway 23L via left on taxiway M and right turn on taxiway D. These are different instructions to runway 23L. Usually we are given taxiway M, taxiway J, then taxiway P to runway 23L. Anyway, we were told to taxi and nothing was said about holding short of the ILS critical area. I believe we were told we were cleared to cross runway 32. We taxied non stop to runway 23L and held short. Upon switching to tower frequency, he informed us we didn't hold short of the ILS critical area. There was an aircraft on the approach at the time, but they landed and did not require a go around. The WX was bad enough we should have held short of the ILS critical area. We were not told to or advised to by ground control. Once the aircraft cleared the runway, we were cleared for takeoff. Possible reasons for not holding short of the ILS critical area: I was flying with a relatively new first officer. We were taxiing pretty slow due to the snow and ground control made no reference to the critical area. We were given a different route to taxi to runway 23L than normal.

Title: DEPARTING EMB145 PENETRATES ILS CRITICAL AREA AT IND.
Narrative: WE LEFT THE GATE AFTER BOARDING, THEN DEICED BECAUSE IT WAS STARTING TO SNOW AND IT WAS BECOMING HEAVIER AND HEAVIER. AFTER DEICING, WE WERE GIVEN TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RWY 23L VIA L ON TXWY M AND R TURN ON TXWY D. THESE ARE DIFFERENT INSTRUCTIONS TO RWY 23L. USUALLY WE ARE GIVEN TXWY M, TXWY J, THEN TXWY P TO RWY 23L. ANYWAY, WE WERE TOLD TO TAXI AND NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT HOLDING SHORT OF THE ILS CRITICAL AREA. I BELIEVE WE WERE TOLD WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 32. WE TAXIED NON STOP TO RWY 23L AND HELD SHORT. UPON SWITCHING TO TWR FREQ, HE INFORMED US WE DIDN'T HOLD SHORT OF THE ILS CRITICAL AREA. THERE WAS AN ACFT ON THE APCH AT THE TIME, BUT THEY LANDED AND DID NOT REQUIRE A GAR. THE WX WAS BAD ENOUGH WE SHOULD HAVE HELD SHORT OF THE ILS CRITICAL AREA. WE WERE NOT TOLD TO OR ADVISED TO BY GND CTL. ONCE THE ACFT CLRED THE RWY, WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. POSSIBLE REASONS FOR NOT HOLDING SHORT OF THE ILS CRITICAL AREA: I WAS FLYING WITH A RELATIVELY NEW FO. WE WERE TAXIING PRETTY SLOW DUE TO THE SNOW AND GND CTL MADE NO REF TO THE CRITICAL AREA. WE WERE GIVEN A DIFFERENT RTE TO TAXI TO RWY 23L THAN NORMAL.
