Departed ZZZ international airport with r-hand thrust reverser inoperative per MEL. According to MEL, 1 thrust reverser inoperative allowed per basic requirements. General section of MEL contains a benign area of operation map between the definitions for basic requirements and benign operations. Carcass is included in the map, which can mistakenly be interpreted as an area where basic requirements apply.

Narrative: DEPARTED ZZZ INTL ARPT WITH R-HAND THRUST REVERSER INOP PER MEL. ACCORDING TO MEL, 1 THRUST REVERSER INOP ALLOWED PER BASIC REQUIREMENTS. GENERAL SECTION OF MEL CONTAINS A BENIGN AREA OF OP MAP BTWN THE DEFINITIONS FOR BASIC REQUIREMENTS AND BENIGN OPS.
