Narrative:
We had a landing gear discrepancy. On approach to dca, selected landing gear lever down and got a landing gear discrepancy warning. Cycled gear 2 times up and down, problem remained. We were 5 mi from airport, executed fly-by for gear to be viewed by tower. Tower said gear all 3 were down. Then we requested to be vectored away so as to comply with checklists. Complied with emergency/abnormal landing gear discrepancy warning. Reset A6/A28 circuit breakers as per checklist, and nose gear warning was corrected. Contacted dispatch and maintenance. Informed them from the air that mains were green and nose red. After checklist, all 3 were green. Asked for emergency equipment as precaution but did not declare emergency. Informed flight attendant to mentally prepare in case nose gear collapsed for an emergency evacuate/evacuation. We did not have passenger brace. Landed no incident, taxied to gate, deplaned.
