Narrative:
On climb out at 1500 ft, front windshield starts arching followed by cracking. Turned window heat off, completed emergency checklist. It said to avoid icing conditions. Departure told us moderate icing in climb. We returned back to ord.

Title: F100 FLT CREW EXPERIENCES THE WINDOW HEAT ARCHING. FLT CREW FOLLOWS THE CHKLIST WHICH PRESCRIBES TURNING OFF THE WINDOW HEAT. RETURN TO ARPT DUE TO ICING CONDITIONS.
Narrative: ON CLBOUT AT 1500 FT, FRONT WINDSHIELD STARTS ARCHING FOLLOWED BY CRACKING. TURNED WINDOW HEAT OFF, COMPLETED EMER CHKLIST. IT SAID TO AVOID ICING CONDITIONS. DEP TOLD US MODERATE ICING IN CLB. WE RETURNED BACK TO ORD.
