Narrative:
Improper taxi routing. Prior to pushback at alb, I was listening to ground control give taxi instructions. Shortly, an aircraft appeared out the first officer's side window on taxiway a and made a right turn onto taxiway D. Having heard ground control issue an aircraft taxi instructions to runway 19, I associated the two, looked at my plate, saw taxiway D depicted, and decided that's the route we would take. We pushed, started engines, complied with all company procedures exactly by the book, called for taxi and were given instructions, '?taxi to runway 19.' as we started taxi, I mentioned we would take taxiway D to taxiway C to the runway. Approaching taxiway D, I read the note saying it was weight limited and then said we would make a left on taxiway a then a right on taxiway C to runway 19. We approached the runway on taxiway C. I said 'we are cleared all the way.' we looked both ways and crossed the runway. As we approached taxiway J on taxiway C, the first officer said 'we are not where we're supposed to be.' we immediately stopped and talked to albany ground. He told us to 'take taxiway J, make a left on runway 10/28 and hold short of runway 1/19.' he then cleared us to 'cross, right on taxiway a and taxi to runway 19.' we reached the end and were cleared for immediate takeoff. When we were switched to departure, I said to tower 'thank you for your help' and he replied 'it's no big deal.' there was no other traffic moving on the airport and no airborne traffic nearby when this happened. I offer no excuse. I knew exactly where we were and I had no doubt in my mind I know exactly where we were going. I guess I got target fixation on the airplane. I thought I saw taxiing to runway 19 when he was actually going to runway 28.

Title: B737-300 CREW HAD A TXWY INCURSION AT ALB.
Narrative: IMPROPER TAXI ROUTING. PRIOR TO PUSHBACK AT ALB, I WAS LISTENING TO GND CTL GIVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. SHORTLY, AN ACFT APPEARED OUT THE FO'S SIDE WINDOW ON TXWY A AND MADE A R TURN ONTO TXWY D. HAVING HEARD GND CTL ISSUE AN ACFT TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RWY 19, I ASSOCIATED THE TWO, LOOKED AT MY PLATE, SAW TXWY D DEPICTED, AND DECIDED THAT'S THE RTE WE WOULD TAKE. WE PUSHED, STARTED ENGS, COMPLIED WITH ALL COMPANY PROCS EXACTLY BY THE BOOK, CALLED FOR TAXI AND WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS, '?TAXI TO RWY 19.' AS WE STARTED TAXI, I MENTIONED WE WOULD TAKE TXWY D TO TXWY C TO THE RWY. APCHING TXWY D, I READ THE NOTE SAYING IT WAS WT LIMITED AND THEN SAID WE WOULD MAKE A L ON TXWY A THEN A R ON TXWY C TO RWY 19. WE APCHED THE RWY ON TXWY C. I SAID 'WE ARE CLRED ALL THE WAY.' WE LOOKED BOTH WAYS AND CROSSED THE RWY. AS WE APCHED TXWY J ON TXWY C, THE FO SAID 'WE ARE NOT WHERE WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE.' WE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AND TALKED TO ALBANY GND. HE TOLD US TO 'TAKE TXWY J, MAKE A L ON RWY 10/28 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 1/19.' HE THEN CLRED US TO 'CROSS, R ON TXWY A AND TAXI TO RWY 19.' WE REACHED THE END AND WERE CLRED FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF. WHEN WE WERE SWITCHED TO DEP, I SAID TO TWR 'THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP' AND HE REPLIED 'IT'S NO BIG DEAL.' THERE WAS NO OTHER TFC MOVING ON THE ARPT AND NO AIRBORNE TFC NEARBY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I OFFER NO EXCUSE. I KNEW EXACTLY WHERE WE WERE AND I HAD NO DOUBT IN MY MIND I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE WE WERE GOING. I GUESS I GOT TARGET FIXATION ON THE AIRPLANE. I THOUGHT I SAW TAXIING TO RWY 19 WHEN HE WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO RWY 28.
