Narrative:
En route from jra in new york to iad, we entered the 30 mi tfr around the white house. The PIC (not me) planned the flight to keep us clear of the old tfr (the new one requires 30 mi). We contacted tower about 10 mi out and were told to contact approach. Approach gave us a vector and passed us back to the tower. Tower advised us of fighter planes at our 1 O'clock position. We saw them and acknowledged the traffic. Upon landing, we were detained by iad operations and the local police department. We were then interviewed by the secret service. Our poor planning and not using approach advisories from nyc to iad was our mistake. The mistake was 100% our fault and we should have had a better understanding of the tfr before we began the trip -- especially as we do not fly to iad very often.

Title: THE FO OF A CPR HELI (S76) RPTED THAT OUTDATED CHARTS WERE USED, CAUSING THE FLT TO VIOLATE P51.
Narrative: ENRTE FROM JRA IN NEW YORK TO IAD, WE ENTERED THE 30 MI TFR AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE. THE PIC (NOT ME) PLANNED THE FLT TO KEEP US CLR OF THE OLD TFR (THE NEW ONE REQUIRES 30 MI). WE CONTACTED TWR ABOUT 10 MI OUT AND WERE TOLD TO CONTACT APCH. APCH GAVE US A VECTOR AND PASSED US BACK TO THE TWR. TWR ADVISED US OF FIGHTER PLANES AT OUR 1 O'CLOCK POS. WE SAW THEM AND ACKNOWLEDGED THE TFC. UPON LNDG, WE WERE DETAINED BY IAD OPS AND THE LCL POLICE DEPT. WE WERE THEN INTERVIEWED BY THE SECRET SVC. OUR POOR PLANNING AND NOT USING APCH ADVISORIES FROM NYC TO IAD WAS OUR MISTAKE. THE MISTAKE WAS 100% OUR FAULT AND WE SHOULD HAVE HAD A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE TFR BEFORE WE BEGAN THE TRIP -- ESPECIALLY AS WE DO NOT FLY TO IAD VERY OFTEN.
