Narrative:

I had an overnight check on aircraft X with an APU MEL. I opened the east & east door to reset the overspd on the MW80 module and thought I closed it on the way out. The aircraft would not pressurize after takeoff and returned to ZZZ. It was discovered that the east & east door was open, but the master caution would not recall the door light. The miscellaneous switching module was found malfunctioning, so the cockpit master caution door light did not illuminate. I fell out of my routine of shutting the door on reset problems.
