Narrative:
Ground control cleared me to taxi and hold short of taxiway F and taxi to runway 25. They must assume local knowledge, because I was on taxiway D, and the only way at this point to comply with their instructions were to hold short of runway 25 (which I did), and then when cleared, hold short of taxiway F on a. I was then cleared to cross runway 25 and taxi to runway 25. No runway incursion occurred, however, the taxiway markings and ground controller's assumption of local knowledge confused the issue. The main concern I have is regarding the poor signage and lack of lighting. The taxiway signs were small and once I was on taxiway D, there were no other signs to show how to get to taxiway F except hold short of runway 25, and then hold short of taxiway F, which I did. If the FAA wants to improve the statistics regarding runway incursions -- they need to have standard taxiway markings at all airports. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter has been at airport only once, and not back since the incident.

Title: BE33 PLT CONCERNED WITH LZU ARPT SIGNAGE, LIGHTING, AND ATC'S USE OF LCL PHRASEOLOGY IN SPECIFYING TAXI RTE FOR DEP.
Narrative: GND CTL CLRED ME TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF TXWY F AND TAXI TO RWY 25. THEY MUST ASSUME LCL KNOWLEDGE, BECAUSE I WAS ON TXWY D, AND THE ONLY WAY AT THIS POINT TO COMPLY WITH THEIR INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25 (WHICH I DID), AND THEN WHEN CLRED, HOLD SHORT OF TXWY F ON A. I WAS THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 25 AND TAXI TO RWY 25. NO RWY INCURSION OCCURRED, HOWEVER, THE TXWY MARKINGS AND GND CTLR'S ASSUMPTION OF LCL KNOWLEDGE CONFUSED THE ISSUE. THE MAIN CONCERN I HAVE IS REGARDING THE POOR SIGNAGE AND LACK OF LIGHTING. THE TXWY SIGNS WERE SMALL AND ONCE I WAS ON TXWY D, THERE WERE NO OTHER SIGNS TO SHOW HOW TO GET TO TXWY F EXCEPT HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25, AND THEN HOLD SHORT OF TXWY F, WHICH I DID. IF THE FAA WANTS TO IMPROVE THE STATISTICS REGARDING RWY INCURSIONS -- THEY NEED TO HAVE STANDARD TXWY MARKINGS AT ALL ARPTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR HAS BEEN AT ARPT ONLY ONCE, AND NOT BACK SINCE THE INCIDENT.
