Narrative:
We were instructed to taxi to runway 30L using runway 3. The hold short line for runway 30L is painted on runway 3. I saw the hold short line too late to stop short, and the nose of the aircraft crossed the line about 15 ft. We advised the tower and the controller replied, 'you are fine where you are.' a light aircraft on final landed and we were subsequently cleared for takeoff. The hold short markings on runway 3 were faded, but plainly visible. I simply did not see them in time.
