Narrative:

While executing night visual approach to runway 34L at reno at approximately 6.1-6.2 DME, we received a momentary GPWS caution while on PAPI. Aural and visual cautions came and went in the blink of an eye. First officer was flying and leveled off. We went high on PAPI. First officer corrected back to PAPI, and we landed uneventfully. Runway and PAPI were always in sight. We found our error on close inspection of 10-9A rno page that states 'do not use PAPI outside 6 NM due to high terrain. Supplemental information from acn 576847: flying into rno missed a ball flag note not to use PAPI beyond 6 NM.
