Air carrier X took climb clearance for air carrier Y, causing a loss of separation. No radio acknowledgement from air carrier X, just started to climb. Aircraft had similar sounding call signs.

Title: B737 CREW CLBED ON INSTRUCTIONS MEANT FOR A MD80 WITH A VERY SIMILAR CALL SIGN, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF SEPARATION.
Narrative: ACR X TOOK CLB CLRNC FOR ACR Y, CAUSING A LOSS OF SEPARATION. NO RADIO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM ACR X, JUST STARTED TO CLB. ACFT HAD SIMILAR SOUNDING CALL SIGNS.
