Narrative:
Departure was briefed as LNAV and single engine land runway 33L. First officer flying, was briefed to departure. Shortly after takeoff, first officer said 'that's high enough for me' and followed engine out procedure even though 2 engines were operating. Captain said 'no, not right, fly LNAV straight ahead 5 DME.' rkrr departure caught early turn and broke us off of SID. No conflicts observed, but rkrr departure did query us. Factors include first officer's age, less than 1 yr to go, much worry expressed over loss of retirement during the entire trip. Also, possible low blood sugar for him. No breakfast or food since early evening. First officer is very concerned about his short term future. All the proper briefings in the world and SOP's cannot help if the emotional state of the first officer's mind cannot be determined. Overall, I would normally rate him as very capable, but he simply is being overloaded by current events concerning his future.
