Narrative:
First officer and I were waiting at the gate for the inbound passenger to off load when the agent approached and demanded to see our ids. I asked why she was checking since we, first officer and I had done the required ns/identification check on each other. She said that everyone did it. In the course of the conversation, she stated that she needed to check because she had opened the jetbridge door. I closed the door and opened it with my key in order to relieve her of the onus of identification checking. She said nothing further as we proceeded to the aircraft. Apparently, she felt that even though procedures were followed that a security breach had occurred. Mass state trooper and FAA rep came and discussed the situation with me. During the conversation with them it was pointed out that despite following procedures, this could still be considered a security breach.
