Narrative:
At XA59Z I received a call from maintenance controller asking if I could contact flight abc on the ground in ZZZ and ask the flight to return to the gate. I was told the maintenance documentation needed to be changed to reflect an APU generator deferred before departure. I relayed this to flight abc and the flight acknowledged. After that, ZZZ maintenance called and deferred the APU generator, and a new dispatch release was issued with MEL 2420A added. At XD51Z, while abc was en route to ZZZ1, I saw a message stating that MEL2420A was cleared from aircraft X, flight abc. I called maintenance controller and asked if this was correct. I was told that the APU generator was, in fact, repaired on flight abc before departure in ZZZ and that the generator was never deferred. I told maintenance controller how it was documented, including the deferral from ZZZ maintenance. Maintenance controller restated that the APU generator was never deferred before departure from ZZZ.

Title: AN AIRBUS 320 DISPATCHER RPTS CONFUSION CAUSED BY MAINT IN THE ACTUAL STATUS OF AN APU DEFERRED THEN RPTED FIXED.
Narrative: AT XA59Z I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MAINT CTLR ASKING IF I COULD CONTACT FLT ABC ON THE GND IN ZZZ AND ASK THE FLT TO RETURN TO THE GATE. I WAS TOLD THE MAINT DOCUMENTATION NEEDED TO BE CHANGED TO REFLECT AN APU GENERATOR DEFERRED BEFORE DEP. I RELAYED THIS TO FLT ABC AND THE FLT ACKNOWLEDGED. AFTER THAT, ZZZ MAINT CALLED AND DEFERRED THE APU GENERATOR, AND A NEW DISPATCH RELEASE WAS ISSUED WITH MEL 2420A ADDED. AT XD51Z, WHILE ABC WAS ENRTE TO ZZZ1, I SAW A MESSAGE STATING THAT MEL2420A WAS CLRED FROM ACFT X, FLT ABC. I CALLED MAINT CTLR AND ASKED IF THIS WAS CORRECT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE APU GENERATOR WAS, IN FACT, REPAIRED ON FLT ABC BEFORE DEP IN ZZZ AND THAT THE GENERATOR WAS NEVER DEFERRED. I TOLD MAINT CTLR HOW IT WAS DOCUMENTED, INCLUDING THE DEFERRAL FROM ZZZ MAINT. MAINT CTLR RESTATED THAT THE APU GENERATOR WAS NEVER DEFERRED BEFORE DEP FROM ZZZ.
