Narrative:
I contacted raleigh FSS to file 2 IFR legs and to obtain en route and area NOTAMS. The legs were clt-ric and ric-W05 (gettysburg).the only NOTAMS I received were parachute jumping at harcum and tower/light information at mdt (my W05 altitude). Both flts were completed successfully. I departed W05 VFR and squawking 1200. My intentions were to proceed southwest towards martinsburg and then fly down the valley towards winchester and eventually back towards richmond for a landing. I was intercepted by a us customs aircraft and told to land at leesburg, which I promptly did. A customs helicopter met me on the ground and informed me that I had violated restricted airspace. Since I was unaware on the NOTAM re: P40 I assumed he meant the ADIZ. I showed him my ground track on my handheld GPS was clear of both P40 and the ADIZ. The crew took my pilot information and inspected the aircraft registration and airworthiness cert. I departed shortly thereafter.

SINCE I WAS UNAWARE ON THE NOTAM RE: P40 I ASSUMED HE MEANT THE ADIZ. I SHOWED HIM MY GND TRACK ON MY HANDHELD GPS WAS CLR OF BOTH P40 AND THE ADIZ. THE CREW TOOK MY PLT INFO AND INSPECTED THE ACFT REGISTRATION AND AIRWORTHINESS CERT. I DEPARTED SHORTLY THEREAFTER.
