Narrative:
On final approach, tower advised 'runway 32 threshold displaced 3000 ft.' I attempted to find the point of the new threshold. I thought I spotted some low barriers on the runway just past the third taxiway from the end. I asked the captain for his opinion on where the new threshold was located. He queried the tower and asked for some indication of where the threshold was. The controller said that if we land past runway 27 we were ok. I thought runway 27 intersection was on the other end of runway 32 and was, therefore, a factor for landing runway 14 and at the end of runway 32, not the beginning. I continued to be confused and apprehensive though as I approached the runway. I landed approximately 2500 ft from the approach end of runway 32 and noticed the faint displaced threshold as I rolled past it. The tower controller then told us that we landed short of the new threshold. I have no recollection of being aware of the displaced threshold prior to being on a 3-4 mi final. The captain indicated he briefed me on it the night before and when he read the ATIS to me on descent from cruise. It apparently didn't register before. The NOTAM was in our preflight paperwork and I read it but did not understand that the acronym 'dthr' means displaced threshold. The reason this confusion occurred was because I did not seek understanding of the NOTAM, and thus tried to analyze the situation in a state of high workload. I should have executed a go around and then sought definitive guidance to eliminate the confusion. The runway markings, if they were more apparent, could have saved me from the confusion. I was not able to see the marking until passing over it on the runway. Supplemental information from acn 580366: we knew about the 3000 ft displaced threshold from a company briefing, a standard briefing with NOTAMS, and ATIS. I saw no chevrons leading up to a displaced threshold, and the departure end of runway 32 (approach end of runway 14) appeared to be blacked out, which added to my confusion. I asked tower where the displaced threshold was. They said runway 32, 3000 ft, beyond runway 9/27. The old threshold and centerline markings were visible and not blacked out. I did not see the displaced threshold until we were in the flare. The runway markings should be checked to make sure they are consistent with standard displaced thresholds.

Title: A C750 FLT CREW LANDS SHORT OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD FOR RWY 23 AT MYNN, FO.
Narrative: ON FINAL APCH, TWR ADVISED 'RWY 32 THRESHOLD DISPLACED 3000 FT.' I ATTEMPTED TO FIND THE POINT OF THE NEW THRESHOLD. I THOUGHT I SPOTTED SOME LOW BARRIERS ON THE RWY JUST PAST THE THIRD TXWY FROM THE END. I ASKED THE CAPT FOR HIS OPINION ON WHERE THE NEW THRESHOLD WAS LOCATED. HE QUERIED THE TWR AND ASKED FOR SOME INDICATION OF WHERE THE THRESHOLD WAS. THE CTLR SAID THAT IF WE LAND PAST RWY 27 WE WERE OK. I THOUGHT RWY 27 INTXN WAS ON THE OTHER END OF RWY 32 AND WAS, THEREFORE, A FACTOR FOR LNDG RWY 14 AND AT THE END OF RWY 32, NOT THE BEGINNING. I CONTINUED TO BE CONFUSED AND APPREHENSIVE THOUGH AS I APCHED THE RWY. I LANDED APPROX 2500 FT FROM THE APCH END OF RWY 32 AND NOTICED THE FAINT DISPLACED THRESHOLD AS I ROLLED PAST IT. THE TWR CTLR THEN TOLD US THAT WE LANDED SHORT OF THE NEW THRESHOLD. I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION OF BEING AWARE OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD PRIOR TO BEING ON A 3-4 MI FINAL. THE CAPT INDICATED HE BRIEFED ME ON IT THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WHEN HE READ THE ATIS TO ME ON DSCNT FROM CRUISE. IT APPARENTLY DIDN'T REGISTER BEFORE. THE NOTAM WAS IN OUR PREFLT PAPERWORK AND I READ IT BUT DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE ACRONYM 'DTHR' MEANS DISPLACED THRESHOLD. THE REASON THIS CONFUSION OCCURRED WAS BECAUSE I DID NOT SEEK UNDERSTANDING OF THE NOTAM, AND THUS TRIED TO ANALYZE THE SIT IN A STATE OF HIGH WORKLOAD. I SHOULD HAVE EXECUTED A GAR AND THEN SOUGHT DEFINITIVE GUIDANCE TO ELIMINATE THE CONFUSION. THE RWY MARKINGS, IF THEY WERE MORE APPARENT, COULD HAVE SAVED ME FROM THE CONFUSION. I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE MARKING UNTIL PASSING OVER IT ON THE RWY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 580366: WE KNEW ABOUT THE 3000 FT DISPLACED THRESHOLD FROM A COMPANY BRIEFING, A STANDARD BRIEFING WITH NOTAMS, AND ATIS. I SAW NO CHEVRONS LEADING UP TO A DISPLACED THRESHOLD, AND THE DEP END OF RWY 32 (APCH END OF RWY 14) APPEARED TO BE BLACKED OUT, WHICH ADDED TO MY CONFUSION. I ASKED TWR WHERE THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD WAS. THEY SAID RWY 32, 3000 FT, BEYOND RWY 9/27. THE OLD THRESHOLD AND CTRLINE MARKINGS WERE VISIBLE AND NOT BLACKED OUT. I DID NOT SEE THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD UNTIL WE WERE IN THE FLARE. THE RWY MARKINGS SHOULD BE CHKED TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CONSISTENT WITH STANDARD DISPLACED THRESHOLDS.
