Narrative:

On my VFR climb, the controller issued 090 degree vector. I responded with 090 degrees and applied 'climbing to 7500 ft.' I was admonished by a new controller several mins later for crossing the final to san jose after he notified me of a lear jet that had to divert from the ILS to avoid me. A larger commercial plane was also in line. But after finally getting the controller's 'ok for own navigation,' I diverted off final to west. It was now obvious to me that on controller handoff they did not record my vector. Being an experienced IFR pilot at sjc, I knew I was getting close to final. I should have tried more than my twice to ask for own navigation. I my GPS was not on long range map, I would have seen potential conflict.

Title: LEAR JET INITIATES EVASIVE MANEUVER OFF SJC RWYS 30 FINAL DUE TO A CONFLICTING BE33 ON VFR DEP VECTOR THAT THE NCT CTLR FORGOT WAS ASSIGNED.

Narrative: ON MY VFR CLB, THE CTLR ISSUED 090 DEG VECTOR. I RESPONDED WITH 090 DEGS AND APPLIED 'CLBING TO 7500 FT.' I WAS ADMONISHED BY A NEW CTLR SEVERAL MINS LATER FOR XING THE FINAL TO SAN JOSE AFTER HE NOTIFIED ME OF A LEAR JET THAT HAD TO DIVERT FROM THE ILS TO AVOID ME. A LARGER COMMERCIAL PLANE WAS ALSO IN LINE. BUT AFTER FINALLY GETTING THE CTLR'S 'OK FOR OWN NAV,' I DIVERTED OFF FINAL TO W. IT WAS NOW OBVIOUS TO ME THAT ON CTLR HDOF THEY DID NOT RECORD MY VECTOR. BEING AN EXPERIENCED IFR PLT AT SJC, I KNEW I WAS GETTING CLOSE TO FINAL. I SHOULD HAVE TRIED MORE THAN MY TWICE TO ASK FOR OWN NAV.
