Narrative:

Our clearance was to taxi to runway 4 at intersection K1 for departure. Runways 35/17 cross runways 4/22 at intersection K1. When we were cleared by tower for takeoff, student lined up for runway 35, at that time I was latching the canopy, and applied full power before I could react. Since he had already applied full power and we were on the roll, I didn't want to slam on the brakes or do anything that will result in blown tire or put the safety of the flight in jeopardy. We were asked to contact the tower when we got on the ground. I explained what happened to them.

Narrative: OUR CLRNC WAS TO TAXI TO RWY 4 AT INTXN K1 FOR DEP. RWYS 35/17 CROSS RWYS 4/22 AT INTXN K1. WHEN WE WERE CLRED BY TWR FOR TKOF, STUDENT LINED UP FOR RWY 35, AT THAT TIME I WAS LATCHING THE CANOPY, AND APPLIED FULL PWR BEFORE I COULD REACT. SINCE HE HAD ALREADY APPLIED FULL PWR AND WE WERE ON THE ROLL, I DIDN'T WANT TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES OR DO ANYTHING THAT WILL RESULT IN BLOWN TIRE OR PUT THE SAFETY OF THE FLT IN JEOPARDY. WE WERE ASKED TO CONTACT THE TWR WHEN WE GOT ON THE GND. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM.
