Narrative:

On departure den runway 8, encountered windshear during recovery. Deviated from 10000 ft while coordinating with departure for higher altitude. Departure was quick in assigning new altitude of 11000 ft, and there appeared to be no conflict. Human factors: we were pedaling as fast as we could to recover from windshear and get a word in to departure to let them know we needed higher.
