Narrative:
Bird strike occurred at 800 ft AGL on takeoff from runway 18R. Bird struck left wiper elbow and dispersed primarily against the lower 5TH of the captain's windshield. No changes in engine instrument indications were noted. It seemed that the wiper unit took most of the energy of the strike. I would estimate a 1.0 pound bird. We continued to ord and referred the aircraft to maintenance. Dispatch was notified by ACARS en route.
