Narrative:
After a normal landing with normal braking on runway 25R in indianapolis, a brake felt like it might be dragging while exiting the runway. Shortly thereafter, the brake felt normal as our taxi progressed. We were asked to hold short of taxiway H en route to the terminal and our brakes were parked. When our taxi resumed, the brake was once again dragging and after moving a short distance, it became quickly evident the brake was overheating and we were notified of the presence of smoke near the main landing gear. The aircraft was stopped immediately and as a precaution we requested fire equipment be sent to establish communications with us and report their observations of smoke. The appropriate checklist was completed. The smoke quickly dissipated, but the fire personnel heat detection equipment confirmed the overheated brake. Through discussions with the airport safety personnel, we felt the appropriate action was to deplane the passenger where we were parked and have them transported to the terminal by bus. The aircraft was then towed to a hardstand location, the left inboard tire brake was frozen. #2 main tire had deflated due to melting fuse plug.

Title: FOLLOWING A NORMAL ARR AT IND, MD80 CREW ENCOUNTERED A DRAGGING BRAKE. AFTER A SHORT TAXI ATTEMPT IT PROVED UNWISE TO TAXI FURTHER. CFR INVESTIGATED THE BRAKE. AFTER ASSURING SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION THE PAX DEPLANED ON THE RAMP.
Narrative: AFTER A NORMAL LNDG WITH NORMAL BRAKING ON RWY 25R IN INDIANAPOLIS, A BRAKE FELT LIKE IT MIGHT BE DRAGGING WHILE EXITING THE RWY. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE BRAKE FELT NORMAL AS OUR TAXI PROGRESSED. WE WERE ASKED TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY H ENRTE TO THE TERMINAL AND OUR BRAKES WERE PARKED. WHEN OUR TAXI RESUMED, THE BRAKE WAS ONCE AGAIN DRAGGING AND AFTER MOVING A SHORT DISTANCE, IT BECAME QUICKLY EVIDENT THE BRAKE WAS OVERHEATING AND WE WERE NOTIFIED OF THE PRESENCE OF SMOKE NEAR THE MAIN LNDG GEAR.
