Narrative:

On the afternoon of jun/mon/03, I contacted flying cloud ground control for an IFR clearance to midway. I received my clearance and requested taxi instructions for takeoff. I was cleared to runway 10R to cross runway 10L and hold short of runway 10R. Just before turning from the parallel taxiway I was instructed to switch to the tower. By the time I switched and came up on tower frequency, I was taxiing onto the approach end of runway 10R. The tower said 'stop,' then said to taxi on across make a 180 degrees and hold short, which I did. We exchanged telephone numbers and I talked with the tower manager and he informed me he had to fill a report on the incident. The FAA has since contacted me and I'm in the process of giving them the information they requested. They said no violation would be filed. I feel the closeness of the runways, the offset threshold of runway 10L and being switched from ground to tower, all helped to contribute to the incursion. No other aircraft were involved.

WE EXCHANGED TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND I TALKED WITH THE TWR MGR AND HE INFORMED ME HE HAD TO FILL A RPT ON THE INCIDENT. THE FAA HAS SINCE CONTACTED ME AND I'M IN THE PROCESS OF GIVING THEM THE INFO THEY REQUESTED. THEY SAID NO VIOLATION WOULD BE FILED.
