Narrative:
The baron, a B55, was departing runway 27L and was approximately 3500 ft down the runway about to lift off when I started my takeoff roll. I was about to lift off when the baron announced that he was aborting his takeoff. I continued the takeoff, cleared the runway, made a left turn so as not to overfly the baron. The baron cleared at the end of the runway and turned around as to take off in the other direction, however another aircraft stated that he was about to use that runway, runway 27L for takeoff, so the baron did clear the runway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: BONANZA PLT TAKES OFF WHILE ANOTHER ACFT IS ON THE RWY AT 61B, NV.
Narrative: THE BARON, A B55, WAS DEPARTING RWY 27L AND WAS APPROX 3500 FT DOWN THE RWY ABOUT TO LIFT OFF WHEN I STARTED MY TKOF ROLL. I WAS ABOUT TO LIFT OFF WHEN THE BARON ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS ABORTING HIS TKOF. I CONTINUED THE TKOF, CLRED THE RWY, MADE A L TURN SO AS NOT TO OVERFLY THE BARON. THE BARON CLRED AT THE END OF THE RWY AND TURNED AROUND AS TO TAKE OFF IN THE OTHER DIRECTION, HOWEVER ANOTHER ACFT STATED THAT HE WAS ABOUT TO USE THAT RWY, RWY 27L FOR TKOF, SO THE BARON DID CLR THE RWY.
