Narrative:
Got in a hurry to prevent delay, and forgot to service constant speed drive cavity with oil. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the constant speed drive until replacement was nearing completion, but was also fast approaching departure time. The reporter said the supervisor assigned 4 more technicians to finish the job with a total of 6 technicians to do a 2 man job. The reporter stated the maintenance manual was being used for the job and required oil service for the constant speed drive and the gearbox to constant speed drive cavity. The reporter said the 1 technician who oiled the constant speed drive was unaware of the oil required in the gearbox to constant speed drive cavity. The reporter stated the airplane was svced at the next station and incurred no damage.

Title: A B737-500 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE L ENG GEARBOX TO CONSTANT SPD DRIVE CAVITY NOT FILLED WITH OIL.
Narrative: GOT IN A HURRY TO PREVENT DELAY, AND FORGOT TO SVC CONSTANT SPD DRIVE CAVITY WITH OIL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CONSTANT SPD DRIVE UNTIL REPLACEMENT WAS NEARING COMPLETION, BUT WAS ALSO FAST APCHING DEP TIME. THE RPTR SAID THE SUPVR ASSIGNED 4 MORE TECHNICIANS TO FINISH THE JOB WITH A TOTAL OF 6 TECHNICIANS TO DO A 2 MAN JOB. THE RPTR STATED THE MAINT MANUAL WAS BEING USED FOR THE JOB AND REQUIRED OIL SVC FOR THE CONSTANT SPD DRIVE AND THE GEARBOX TO CONSTANT SPD DRIVE CAVITY. THE RPTR SAID THE 1 TECHNICIAN WHO OILED THE CONSTANT SPD DRIVE WAS UNAWARE OF THE OIL REQUIRED IN THE GEARBOX TO CONSTANT SPD DRIVE CAVITY. THE RPTR STATED THE AIRPLANE WAS SVCED AT THE NEXT STATION AND INCURRED NO DAMAGE.
