Narrative:
On descent to rno, we were given 1 TA for a glider several mi ahead. Another advisory for a different glider a moment later. Passing through 11000 ft and slowing through 300 KIAS, we both saw the glider at our 12 O'clock position, moving in a very steep bank from right to left. We rolled 30 degrees bank left and pulled about 2 G's for 1-1.5 seconds to clear the traffic to our left. The flight attendant got knocked into 1 passenger (no injuries). Continuing into rno non-eventful. After arriving at the hotel, I called ATC. Very helpful in his explanation regarding the local glider activity. After the initial TA's, the primary radars were radar canceled returns as the gliders were in tight turns to rise in the thermals. He explained this as being the moving target indicator portion of his radar eliminating a supposed non-moving target. We never had any indication of a target on our screens. This occurred near the anaho intersection on the arrival. We had been given a vector for the sparks visual runway 16R.

Title: DURING DSCNT INTO RNO, A CL65 CREW HAVE AN NMAC WITH A GLIDER.
Narrative: ON DSCNT TO RNO, WE WERE GIVEN 1 TA FOR A GLIDER SEVERAL MI AHEAD. ANOTHER ADVISORY FOR A DIFFERENT GLIDER A MOMENT LATER. PASSING THROUGH 11000 FT AND SLOWING THROUGH 300 KIAS, WE BOTH SAW THE GLIDER AT OUR 12 O'CLOCK POS, MOVING IN A VERY STEEP BANK FROM R TO L. WE ROLLED 30 DEGS BANK L AND PULLED ABOUT 2 G'S FOR 1-1.5 SECONDS TO CLR THE TFC TO OUR L. THE FLT ATTENDANT GOT KNOCKED INTO 1 PAX (NO INJURIES). CONTINUING INTO RNO NON-EVENTFUL. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE HOTEL, I CALLED ATC. VERY HELPFUL IN HIS EXPLANATION REGARDING THE LCL GLIDER ACTIVITY. THIS OCCURRED NEAR THE ANAHO INTXN ON THE ARR. WE HAD BEEN GIVEN A VECTOR FOR THE SPARKS VISUAL RWY 16R.
