Narrative:
Being vectored to the lda for runway 12L, we were given an intercept heading and told to descend from 7000 to 3500 ft. As we turned to intercept the lda localizer while descending through 6000 ft, the first officer (PF) noticed an MD80 crossing our path from the south to the north 500 ft below us. He leveled off at 6000 ft about the same time approach control told him to level off. The MD80 had blown through the localizer for runway 12R as well as the lda localizer for runway 12L. If the first officer hadn't seen the MD80 out of his windshield, he certainly could have descended very close.

Title: AN MD80 FLT CREW HAS NMAC WITH ANOTHER MD80 TAT FLEW THROUGH THE LOC OF THE PARALLEL FINAL APCH COURSE.
Narrative: BEING VECTORED TO THE LDA FOR RWY 12L, WE WERE GIVEN AN INTERCEPT HDG AND TOLD TO DSND FROM 7000 TO 3500 FT. AS WE TURNED TO INTERCEPT THE LDA LOC WHILE DSNDING THROUGH 6000 FT, THE FO (PF) NOTICED AN MD80 XING OUR PATH FROM THE S TO THE N 500 FT BELOW US. HE LEVELED OFF AT 6000 FT ABOUT THE SAME TIME APCH CTL TOLD HIM TO LEVEL OFF. THE MD80 HAD BLOWN THROUGH THE LOC FOR RWY 12R AS WELL AS THE LDA LOC FOR RWY 12L. IF THE FO HADN'T SEEN THE MD80 OUT OF HIS WINDSHIELD, HE CERTAINLY COULD HAVE DSNDED VERY CLOSE.
