Narrative:
We departed teb runway 24, teterboro 5 departure. Per the departure, we were to climb runway heading to 1500 ft, turn right to 280 degrees, then at the teb 4.5 DME climb to 2000 ft. We followed the procedure correctly except that upon completing the turn to 280 degrees, we climbed to 2000 ft prior to reaching the teb 4.5 DME. I estimate we were at the teb 4.0 DME upon initiating the climb to 2000 ft. The controller made us aware of our deviation and recommended we review the procedure. No conflicts occurred. We reviewed the departure procedure prior to taking off and both of us understood the procedure. After departure we were very busy, (as is always the case) and this contributed heavily to our mistake. This may have been avoided if the PNF would have called out each phase of the departure, instead of our relying on memory.

Title: A C560 FLT CREW TURNS EARLIER THAN DEPICTED ON THE DEP SID.
Narrative: WE DEPARTED TEB RWY 24, TETERBORO 5 DEP. PER THE DEP, WE WERE TO CLB RWY HEADING TO 1500 FT, TURN R TO 280 DEGS, THEN AT THE TEB 4.5 DME CLB TO 2000 FT. WE FOLLOWED THE PROC CORRECTLY EXCEPT THAT UPON COMPLETING THE TURN TO 280 DEGS, WE CLBED TO 2000 FT PRIOR TO REACHING THE TEB 4.5 DME. I ESTIMATE WE WERE AT THE TEB 4.0 DME UPON INITIATING THE CLB TO 2000 FT. THE CTLR MADE US AWARE OF OUR DEV AND RECOMMENDED WE REVIEW THE PROC. NO CONFLICTS OCCURRED. WE REVIEWED THE DEP PROC PRIOR TO TAKING OFF AND BOTH OF US UNDERSTOOD THE PROC. AFTER DEP WE WERE VERY BUSY, (AS IS ALWAYS THE CASE) AND THIS CONTRIBUTED HEAVILY TO OUR MISTAKE. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE PNF WOULD HAVE CALLED OUT EACH PHASE OF THE DEP, INSTEAD OF OUR RELYING ON MEMORY.
