Narrative:
After takeoff from seatac the left main gear failed to retract normally. The right main and nose gear did retract normally. Through proper use of the checklist it was discovered that the floor mounted alternate gear extension door was somehow left partially open and then covered by the cockpit garbage bag. Upon closing the door, the gear operated normally and the flight was successfully completed.
