Narrative:
In cruise, autoplt on, air driven generator deployed, lost #1 generator. Smoke 30 seconds to 1 min later from floor area. An emergency declared, donned oxygen and goggles. Diverted to rdu. Communication with flight attendant in back. No problems in cabin reported, normal landing.
