Narrative:
During short field takeoff roll from 2400 ft grass landing strip aircraft was slow to liftoff. In order to avoid trees at end of runway, I banked left and landed in field to south of runway.

Title: WHILE PERFORMING SHORT, GRASS FIELD TKOF, PLT OF C172 DISCOVERED TREES AT END OF SHORT GRASS RWY WERE TALLER THAN HE WAS. AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT BY DIVERTING SIDEWAYS TO LAND IN AN ADJACENT FIELD.
