Narrative:
On aug/sat/03, I had an engine failure on a C208 at around XA10 local time at about 5 mi west of ZZZ, us. I was unable to declare an emergency due to the fact I was communicating the situation to another pilot who delivered the information immediately to the proper auths. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: that the aircraft landed in about 3 ft of water just off a beach. There were no injuries and minimal aircraft damage. The reason that the pilot relayed the emergency through another pilot is that he was using a common traffic frequency that he didn't want to leave for traffic reasons.
