Narrative:
On the date of the occurrence it was near the end of the shift. I was tired and fatigued. It was very hot in the flight deck and the lighting was low. A late inbound PIREP was discovered on the TCASII control panel. I ordered the panel through our maintenance controllers. Part was delivered to the gate. The panel was the same in appearance and installation, including canon plugs. TCASII, operations checks and panel lighting all appeared normal. Completed paperwork, released aircraft for service. The following day, the aircraft was dispatched to ZZZ1. Upon arrival at ZZZ1, the crew again squawked the TCASII/ATC system where further investigation revealed the error.
