Narrative:

I fly pipeline near oxford, ms. My pipeline has a lateral that ends 1/2 mi southwest of the approach end of runway 9. I didn't get my radio turned up until near the end of my line but I did report 1/2 mi final. From what the other pilot (cherokee) stated, I think he was making a normal pattern but wide. As was my habit, I was approaching the runway at a slight angle so not to be blind (to the rear) on final except the last 2 or 3 seconds. As was my habit, I started a tight 360 degree turn to check my rear on short final. I saw him in the turn and heard him call final at the same time. I should have turned the radio up earlier. He was quite upset.
