Narrative:
On climb out passing 11000 ft, captain flying. The aft cargo fire warning came on and stayed on. Captain leveled aircraft at 14000 ft and slowed while copilot ran the emergency checklist for aft cargo fire. Fire warning went out with the discharge of agent to the cargo area. Declared an emergency and was given priority clearance direct to ord. The second jumpseat was qualified B777 copilot, who handled communications with flight attendants and passenger. Contacted the company about emergency and flew a visual approach to runway 14R. We were below maximum landing weight, so no dump was required. Did have to make a 360 degree on final as we were too high and fast for a safe and stabilized landing. Fire department made outside visual inspection on taxiway, no indications of fire. Got a gate assignment and deplaned all passenger before actually opening the cargo pit. No fire or sign that one ever existed.
