Narrative:
On back course instrument approach to luk, miscalculated rate of descent and received low altitude alert from ATC. Immediate climb was in VMC, so ground in sight, no dangerous condition. Corrective action, pay closer attention to descent profile so do not drop below minimum listed altitude at approach fixes.
