Narrative:
I was operating a trip for air carrier X. We had flown 4 legs of a 5 leg day last leg from msp to sbn. The aircraft we were to fly was delayed into msp because of a maintenance problem. Our scheduled out time of XA45 was delayed to XC10. I had contacted crew scheduling and they said to call them when we got to sbn for the next day report times. We arrived in sbn at XE04 and off duty at XE19. I called crew scheduling. They said to report at XI19 for an XI49 departure to msp. This would be an 8 hour reduced rest. We reported the next day as assigned and departed at XI48 back to msp. We deadheaded back to mem, arriving mem at XN38. At that time crew scheduling called us and told us we had departed sbn illegal, that we should have gotten 9 hours rest we had been scheduled for more than 9 hours of flight time in a 24 hour block. So 9 hours was reduced rest time. The trip was scheduled for 9 hours 36 mins minimum rest in the original schedule. The company had scheduled a reduced rest rather than scheduled legal rest. Crew scheduling reduced a reduced rest to 84 hours.

Title: AN ACR CREW OPERATES, AFTER A MAINT DELAY, IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH FLT TIME REGS WHEN THEIR CREW TRACKING REDUCED A REST PERIOD THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN REDUCED TO MINIMUM COMPLIANCE IN THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULE.
Narrative: I WAS OPERATING A TRIP FOR ACR X. WE HAD FLOWN 4 LEGS OF A 5 LEG DAY LAST LEG FROM MSP TO SBN. THE ACFT WE WERE TO FLY WAS DELAYED INTO MSP BECAUSE OF A MAINT PROB. OUR SCHEDULED OUT TIME OF XA45 WAS DELAYED TO XC10. I HAD CONTACTED CREW SCHEDULING AND THEY SAID TO CALL THEM WHEN WE GOT TO SBN FOR THE NEXT DAY RPT TIMES. WE ARRIVED IN SBN AT XE04 AND OFF DUTY AT XE19. I CALLED CREW SCHEDULING. THEY SAID TO RPT AT XI19 FOR AN XI49 DEP TO MSP. THIS WOULD BE AN 8 HR REDUCED REST. WE RPTED THE NEXT DAY AS ASSIGNED AND DEPARTED AT XI48 BACK TO MSP. WE DEADHEADED BACK TO MEM, ARRIVING MEM AT XN38. AT THAT TIME CREW SCHEDULING CALLED US AND TOLD US WE HAD DEPARTED SBN ILLEGAL, THAT WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 9 HRS REST WE HAD BEEN SCHEDULED FOR MORE THAN 9 HRS OF FLT TIME IN A 24 HR BLOCK. SO 9 HRS WAS REDUCED REST TIME. THE TRIP WAS SCHEDULED FOR 9 HRS 36 MINS MINIMUM REST IN THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULE. THE COMPANY HAD SCHEDULED A REDUCED REST RATHER THAN SCHEDULED LEGAL REST. CREW SCHEDULING REDUCED A REDUCED REST TO 84 HRS.
