Narrative:
200 mi north of rio branco brazil, en route, diverted to lima, peru for ill passenger. Made the decision to divert to lima, peru when passenger had severe stomach pains. A doctor attending the passenger suggested we divert and get further medical assistance for the passenger. Spim was approximately 500 NM away and slvr was over 799 mi away. Made a quick decision on spim and landed without incident in less than 1 hour flight time. Passenger deplaned to awaiting paramedics. Aircraft departed spim after 45 min ground time. Supplemental information from acn 597137: I received a call from the purser about a passenger feeling ill. She had made a PA requesting assistance from any doctor on board, and one was now attending the passenger. I called dispatch via satcom to verify WX. Before dispatch could get back to us with that information, the captain came back into the cockpit with instructions to initiate a diversion for medical reasons, and based on the best advice from the attending physician.
