Narrative:
Aircraft X came into ZZZ for ZZZ1 light 'C' check. During rig of slats found '0' slat input cable with 3 broken cable strands and pulley bracket broken at guide pin support arm. At previous heavy 'C' check changed slat track, but not cable (no damage indication at this check -- jun 2002). During which time I inspected cable routing and cable tensions. No adverse conditions were noted during inspection. Discovered not all routing can be accomplished from bottom of wing.
