Narrative:
I flew 2 aircraft with 2 first aid kits on board. The passenger seat confign is 156 seats and by appendix a of part 121 requires 3 first aid kits. 3 months later, I flew the same aircraft with 2 first aid kits. Our company discovered today (1 month later) that 3 kits are required and disclosed this error to the pilot group as well as the local FSDO. The 'lopa' for the aircraft was approved (as well as the manual revisions) by the local FSDO. This report is being filed immediately after notification that I flew the above aircraft without the required emergency equipment on board. These aircraft passed a rigorous acceptance by both the local FSDO and the 'cset' team as well as proving runs by both prior to being placed into service in this exact confign. 3 first aid kits are now installed on board both aircraft. The 'lopa' was approved in may 2003 and the planes were put into service early june 2003. The original 'lopa' only had the 2 kits listed. A new 'lopa' for the aircraft showing the 3 kits is at the FSDO for approval today.

Title: A SET OF 2 A320'S WERE FLOWN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WITH AN INADEQUATE NUMBER OF FIRST AID KITS ON BOARD, EVEN THOUGH THE EQUIP LIST INDICATING A MINIMUM OF 2 WAS APPROVED BY THE LCL FSDO AT ZZZ, US.
Narrative: I FLEW 2 ACFT WITH 2 FIRST AID KITS ON BOARD. THE PAX SEAT CONFIGN IS 156 SEATS AND BY APPENDIX A OF PART 121 REQUIRES 3 FIRST AID KITS. 3 MONTHS LATER, I FLEW THE SAME ACFT WITH 2 FIRST AID KITS. OUR COMPANY DISCOVERED TODAY (1 MONTH LATER) THAT 3 KITS ARE REQUIRED AND DISCLOSED THIS ERROR TO THE PLT GROUP AS WELL AS THE LCL FSDO. THE 'LOPA' FOR THE ACFT WAS APPROVED (AS WELL AS THE MANUAL REVISIONS) BY THE LCL FSDO. THIS RPT IS BEING FILED IMMEDIATELY AFTER NOTIFICATION THAT I FLEW THE ABOVE ACFT WITHOUT THE REQUIRED EMER EQUIP ON BOARD. THESE ACFT PASSED A RIGOROUS ACCEPTANCE BY BOTH THE LCL FSDO AND THE 'CSET' TEAM AS WELL AS PROVING RUNS BY BOTH PRIOR TO BEING PLACED INTO SVC IN THIS EXACT CONFIGN. 3 FIRST AID KITS ARE NOW INSTALLED ON BOARD BOTH ACFT. THE 'LOPA' WAS APPROVED IN MAY 2003 AND THE PLANES WERE PUT INTO SVC EARLY JUNE 2003. THE ORIGINAL 'LOPA' ONLY HAD THE 2 KITS LISTED. A NEW 'LOPA' FOR THE ACFT SHOWING THE 3 KITS IS AT THE FSDO FOR APPROVAL TODAY.
