An item was entered into the aircraft maintenance logbook. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that prior to departure ramp service reported difficulty closing the forward cargo compartment door. The reporter said the flight crew inspected the door and found damage to the bottom aft corner and noted the door was completely out of rig. The reporter stated it appeared the door had been damaged by ground equipment striking the door. The reporter said maintenance control was advised of the door damage and a logbook report was entered.
