Narrative:
On a vector to intercept localizer 27 san approach. Approximately heading 230 degrees at 7-8 mi north of swatt, cleared to 3800 ft MSL. At 3 mi north of swatt, GPWS terrain and pull-up were activated. Climbed at 300-400 ft and warning ceased. Notified ATC of the deviation. We were told by ATC that we were 1000 ft above any terrain which concurred with the approach plate. ATC reclred us for the approach. The remainder of the flight was uneventful. Normal approach and landing. A GPWS check on the ground proved normal.
