Narrative:
We landed on runway 18R and were told to take next high speed after construction. We exited E4 to wl. Instructions were to taxi south on taxiway east to taxiway a and hold short of runway 18L. The nose of aircraft was pointed past taxiway east on wl. I looked at the construction, my chart and thought taxiway east was in front of me. I pulled onto runway 18L and realized I was on a runway. I immediately exited the runway at F5. I had given my first officer instructions to do the after landing checklist thinking we had plenty of time to complete this task on the taxiway. The construction was a factor. I looked left as I always do before entering a taxiway and saw no aircraft. I believe I failed to see the solid yellow line because I was looking elsewhere. I will now only call for after landing checklists when clear of all runways. I do feel the runways need much better markings and signs. Supplemental information from acn 600701: tower phone was called. Taxiway east is very narrow where this event occurred. It may appear as a service road.

TXWY E IS VERY NARROW WHERE THIS EVENT OCCURRED. IT MAY APPEAR AS A SVC ROAD.
