Narrative:
I was unaware that the washington ADIZ was ground conterminous. I was navigating below the floor of the class B airspace as depicted on the area chart and my GPS. I had contacted potomac approach prior to reaching the lateral limits of the washington class B airspace and requested flight following. The controller said he was unable to give VFR advisories. About 20 mins later, I tried another frequency requesting flight following and was instructed to contact potomac on 118.3(?) I was given a vector (180 degrees) to exit the ADIZ and I complied. I was then given a phone number to call when I reached my destination, which I did. I gave them all the information they asked for and was advised to file this form.
