Narrative:
Aircraft #1 called on climbing to FL290 which was good as aircraft #2 level at FL310 was possible traffic down the road. After hearing the tape, I realize that I inadvertently climbed aircraft #1 to FL310. When I noticed aircraft #1 climb through FL290 I took immediate action to descend aircraft #1 and climb aircraft #2 and ended up with 4.5 mi and 1700 ft.
