Narrative:
Flight called in range and said he needed maintenance for a flag on his altitude. I met the aircraft and after pulling the circuit breaker, removed the altimeter. Inspected the connecting plug, cleaned it and reinstalled it. I reset the circuit breaker and the altimeter operated properly. After waiting a few mins to see that it would continue to operate normally, I signed off the removal and reinstallation of the altimeter. I didn't even realize I hadn't recertified the hgs (air data computer self-test) until the next morning.
